 For information pulled from Canvas, what counts as the first and last assignment submission? Is that any graded thing (like including quizzes or discussions) or specifically an assignment submission (like a paper)?

  Hi Courtney! 

  It depends on the school configuration,  Aviso Connect asks Canvas for students "submissions" via the API and uses the data that comes back. This is based on what the institution has configured in the gradebook as Submissions. Typically it is everything that is considered an assignment in Canvas. In standard configurations this includes papers, quizzes etc, but often does not include discussions unless the institution explicitly set them up as assignments.
